Accelerator 07 · Logistics & supply chain
Shipment exception agent
Watches shipment events, classifies each exception, finds the likely cause and drafts the actions and customer update.
The problem
- Control towers see thousands of status events a day; real exceptions are buried in noise.
- Each exception needs the same steps: find the cause, decide the action, inform the customer.
- Customers hear about delays after they have already chased.
What it does
- Classifies the exception (customs hold, address issue, capacity, damage, documentation).
- Identifies the likely cause from the event trail and documents.
- Proposes actions with owners and deadlines and checks the SLA impact.
- Drafts a short, specific customer update.
Paste a shipment event trail and get the exception type, cause, actions and a customer message.
Live demo: Shipment exception agent
Synthetic data only · nothing you type is stored
Output
Exception class, likely cause, SLA impact, actions with owners and a customer update.
The demo first calls the Surge in-house AI server and falls back to a hosted open-source model if it is busy. The badge on the output shows which one answered. Limited to a few runs per visitor per day.
How it integrates
In your deployment the accelerator runs inside your environment, behind your single sign-on, and is connected to the systems below. You choose the hosting and the model.
Systems and APIs
- TMS / WMS event APIs
- Carrier tracking APIs and EDI messages
- Customer notification (email, WhatsApp)
- Ticketing for the control tower
Data we need for a pilot
- Event code list per carrier
- SLA terms per customer
- 3 months of exception tickets with resolutions
Where it runs
- Cloud or on-prem; event stream can be processed in batches every few minutes
Open-source models we start with
- Qwen3-class 8B–14B instruct model for classification and drafting

We are recording a short walkthrough of this accelerator. Meanwhile, run the live demo above or book a working session.
Run the logistics & supply chain accelerator on your data
In a working session we map it to your process, systems and rules, and agree what a pilot must prove before it goes live.
