The problem
What it solves for a business
For: Direct-to-consumer brands, performance marketers and agencies who test many short video ads on Meta, TikTok and YouTube Shorts.
- We need dozens of video ad variants to find one hook that works, and creators or AI actor tools get expensive fast.
- Fixing one line in an AI video often means paying to regenerate the whole clip.
- We worry about ad claims and AI-disclosure rules getting our ads rejected.
How it works
TalkingVideoAds, step by step
- 01
Paste a product link
It builds a brief from the page, or you type one, and pick one of 12 ad formats.
- 02
Get hooks and a script
AI writes hooks across 12 angles, each with the hypothesis it tests, then script lines with emotion, gesture, on-screen text and B-roll notes.
- 03
Check claims
The claim checker flags cures, guarantees, financial returns, fake urgency and other risky phrasing as you write and again before render.
- 04
Pick an actor and look
Choose from 304 illustrated actors, set captions, music, product cut-aways, screen-recording layouts and platform safe zones.
- 05
Render and review
Render free draft videos as a batch of hooks x actors x ratios, then share a review link so a client can approve each video without an account.
- 06
Export and learn
Download named MP4s, captions and Meta/TikTok bulk-upload sheets, then import ad results to see which hook, actor and format won.

Why switch
Advantages over Arcads
No subscription
Scripts, hooks, draft renders, captions, exports, review links, teams and API are free. Paid photoreal engines, when switched on, charge exactly the provider's price.
An editor, not just a generator
Captions, B-roll, music, screen-recording layouts and safe zones are built in. Arcads lists editing as coming soon.
Ready for clean A/B tests
Each hook is labelled with its angle and the one variable it changes, and exports carry names that join back to your ad results.
Safer ads
A claim checker flags risky phrasing before render, and every MP4 carries AI-disclosure metadata and an optional AI label.

Use cases
How teams use TalkingVideoAds
Hook testing for a DTC brand
A skincare brand turns its product page into 8 hooks and renders a hooks x ratios batch of drafts for a Meta test.
App demo ad
A SaaS team places an actor in front of a screen recording with the green-screen layout for a TikTok ad.
Agency sign-off
An agency sends a client a review link to approve or request changes on each variant.
Reading results
A marketer imports a Meta results CSV and sees which hook and format won, with a suggested next test.
Under the hood
Where AI is used, and where it is not
The model
Qwen3.8-27B on Surge's own AI server (one request at a time) writes briefs, hooks, scripts, rewrites and counter-hooks. No Claude. Paid video engines (LatentSync, Kling Avatar v2, OmniHuman 1.5 on fal) and voices (Sarvam, ElevenLabs) are built but not switched on.
Rules and code
Code runs the claim checker, script-language check, the 12 ad-format templates (which can fill a script without AI), platform safe zones, credit holds and itemised at-cost charges with automatic refunds on failure, the abuse gate and per-IP limits.
People in the loop
New workspaces are approved by an admin before they can render or use the API; custom faces and cloned voices need a live consent video reviewed by an admin; clients approve videos through review links; users decide what to export.
